Musical improv based in Atlanta.

Measure Island was formed after some members took a musical improv class taught by our very own Fiona Campbell. We began rehearsing in Fiona's cozy living room and with each rehearsal, our chemistry grew stronger.

In April 2023, we took to the stage for our debut performance, and as soon as the spotlight hit, magic ensued. From that moment on, there was no stopping Measure Island.

With uproarious laughter echoing through the streets of Atlanta, we've taken the city by storm, one improvised melody at a time.

Meet the group.

  • Cody Sanders

    Cody (he/him) is Measure Island's Atlanta-based cycling, rhyming, and rapping sensation! From Tears For Fears to Kendrick Lamar, his musical tastes are as diverse as his talents. When not rocking the stage, you'll find him spending time with family, writing, strumming the guitar, or cycling – did you know he cycles his age in miles on his birthday?

  • Daryl Patrice

    Daryl’s (she/her) a Miami native and theatre girly who’s been improvising since 2018. She’s also the founder of The Betties, and all Black women’s improv team, and creator/director/producer of “What Was Said?!” a monthly improv show highlighting Black improvisers. Her goal in improv is to create spaces for Black folks to play, be seen, and see themselves!

  • Ella Boyett

    Ella (she/her) is an Atlanta-based improviser and has been performing for over 10 years!! Ella is a voracious reader and you’ll rarely see her without a book in her hand. If she’s not reading you may catch her hanging with her friends, trying to win over her cats, or playing Fortnite.

  • Fiona Campbell

    Fiona (she/they) is from Orlando, Florida. She works in an apothecary, studies herbalism, practices yoga, makes arts and crafts, and is anxiously awaiting the new season of Demon Slayer to be released which will then occupy all of their free time.

  • Joel Camargo

    Joel (he/him) hails from the small town of Harrison, NJ. When he’s not on stage with us, you’ll find him playing basketball and reading self-development books. As a military veteran, Joel brings discipline to our team. His pre-show ritual is basically a masterclass in relaxation: sipping throat coat tea, watching musical improv, and stretching (getting ready to hit those juicy high notes).

  • Johnathan Taylor

    Johnathan Taylor (JustOriginal) (he/him) is a Sound Designer, Composer, Producer, and Actor based in Atlanta, GA. His lifelong journey of discovery and curiosity fuels his versatility as a performer and his love for crafting dynamic moments for any audience member. He loves creating lasting experiences and feelings with every person he comes into contact with and you can follow on all socials and Spotify as JustOriginal.

  • Sallie Torell

    Sallie (she/he) is the team’s funny bone! She’s always cracking us up with her silly characters and voices. Sallie has had extensive voice training, which truly shows when she’s belting out beautiful songs at rehearsal.

  • Samuel Aluyon

    Sam (he/him) is our West Coast wonder from Los Angeles! Whether he's playing the keys or crunching numbers as an accountant Sam's multi-talented flair shines bright. From spinning tracks as a DJ to serenading audiences as a lead singer of a band, to playing keys and on stage with Measure Island, Sam's versatility knows no bounds.

  • Shaina Lubliner

    Shaina (she/her) grew up in Connecticut. She's a graduate of Duke University (Go Blue Devils!), where she loved performing in and directing musicals. She has lived in Atlanta since 2020 and works in the nonprofit sector helping people find and create community. She loves dancing, riding the Peloton, reading, watching RuPaul's Drag Race, and making up silly songs with Measure Island.
